Abstract:An induced current simulation model was established for overhead ground wire of a real transmission line using ATP-EMTP. The feasibility of the model is verified by comparative analysis of simulation result between actual measurements. Based on the model, the paper simulated impact factors on induced current and energy loss for overhead ground wire, including transmission power, unbalance level of conductor, line length, span of towers, the average height of ground wire and conductor, distance of conductor and ground wire. It provide some technical basis for applying corresponding measures to reduce energy loss of overhead ground wire.
