Development of a Novel 0~10kV Continuous Adjustable Portable Combination Wave Generator

Abstract:In order to test the operating characteristics of the Surge Protection Device (SPD) under surges of different voltage on the scene, we designed a novel set of portable combination wave generator which can adjust the voltage from 0 to 10kV continuously. This device adopted the design idea of combining the frequency conversion and the voltage doubling, and included some technologies such as direct current chopping, series-resonant, optimizing of the voltage doubling and so on. The device has advantages of light weight, small volume and low cost, and can test the performance of the SPD on the scene conveniently and effectively to ensure safe and reliable operation of the SPD.
