Abstract:High frequency switching rectifier module has the advantages of small volume, light weight, high efficiency and low noise, and is widely used in the charging device of the DC system in substation. The charging device of DC system in substation is in parallel, charging for battery and supplying DC load. During the normal operation, the rectifier module can't work at high efficiency range due to the low load rate of the charging device. In this paper, we study and analyze the principle and structure of digital high frequency switching rectifier module. According to the DC system controlled by PLC, a kind of rectifier module hot backup is proposed. In this way, the PLC control system can monitor each rectifier module in real time. The number of start and stop modules can be controlled according to the load conditions. It can improve the efficiency of the charging device and extend module life while ensuring the safety and reliability of the DC system. Through the field application, rectifier module hot backup can achieve the expected goals.
