Design of a portable fluorescent immunochromatographic strip detection device based on Android platform

Abstract:Quantitative analysis of fluorescence immunochromatographic assay (FICA) has many advantages, such as high accuracy, fast detection speed and simple operation. It has been widely used in environmental protection, food safety, clinical medicine and others. Based on Android platform and image denoising technology of OpenCV computer vision library, a man-computer interactive application with convenient operation is developed; a portable fluorescent strip image acquisition dark box that matches well with the mobile phones is made; a sliding window image segmentation algorithm is designed to extract the gray values of the test line, control line and background area, and finally calculate the characteristic value of the test strip. The repeatability, validity and calculation time of the test results are tested by using standard strip pictures. The experimental results show that the detection device locate the test line and the control line of fluorescent strip images accurately; the characteristic values of fluorescent strip images decrease monotonously with the decrease of the gray values of the test line within the effective test range; changing the width of the sliding window has little effect on the characteristic value.
