Participation of hybrid energy storage in capacity optimization configuration of automatic generation control system

Abstract:The energy storage device has the characteristics of high cost and short life when participating in frequency modulation. It is necessary to optimize the configuration of the capacity to reduce the cost in order to improve its practicality. In aim of minimizing the annual comprehensive cost, and based on the area control error composed of white noise and wind power disturbance data, the capacity optimization configuration of the hybrid energy storage system composed of supercapacitors and batteries is carried out, and the superiority of the proposed capacity allocation strategy is verified by simulation. Compared with the conventional frequency domain decomposition method, the priority of supercapacitor charging used in the configuration process can significantly reduce the charging loss of the battery and improve the overall economy of frequency regulation of the energy storage system.
