Abstract:For the equal diameter flanging shell in gas insulated switchgear, the theoretical calculation results of flanging mouth deviate from the actural processing results largely. A typical equal diameter flanging shell with ϕ 406mm diameter is studied. The flanging die is designed through numerical simulation, and then the shell is flanged in equal diameter with the aid of “flattening-sizing” tooling. It shows that the equivalent stress and loading variation et al. in the numerical simulation are close to the ones in the actual flanging process, and the numerical simulation results are almost consistent with the actual processing results. The size of flanging hole is proven to meet the requirements for the equal diameter flanging technology of ϕ 406mm shell. This process technology achieves the goal of equal diameter flanging for the shells in high-voltage electrical apparatuses, and avoids the subsequent manual correction process in the shell processing, and meanwhile the pass rate of ultrasonic flaw detection on the weld joint of flanging mouth increases from 70% to no less than 92%.
