Abstract：Analyzing defects of calculation ground flash density which based on the current thunderstorm and lightning location monitoring system, and find out two parameters that influence the accuracy of the calculated ground flash density: the number of lightning and region. By establishing of lightning density model and analyzing purpose of lightning risk assessment, confirm selection methods of the region shape and region radius, and then puts forward a kind of method which can precise calculation of ground flash density ,for lightning risk assessment provides scientific lightning parameter data.
