Abstract：Through the introduction and application of the Residual current operated protective device in this paper, combined with many engineering design examples, this paper puts forward the necessity of the use of residual current operated protective device in several common situations. Residual current operated protective device has protective effect on the single phase grounding fault in TN system.In some cases, the circuit breakers with residual current protection function should be used for motor or line protection.
