The Novel Environment Monitoring System for Prefabricated Substation

Abstract:To solve difficulties in prefabricated substation environment monitoring, environment monitoring system based on Internet of things and cloud computing is designed in this paper. The monitoring system includes Internet of things terminal, cloud computing server, and client software. The Internet of things terminal is composed of sensors and gateway. Sensors acquire data and are connected to gateway via ZigBee. And gateway collects measurement data from sensors and sends the data to server using the third generation mobile telecommunications technology. The platform server is built on cloud computing servers, to store and analyze data and detect anomalies. Users can view substation environment data and receive notifications of anomalies. The environment monitoring platform is able to monitor environment status of prefabricated substation and notify inspectors quickly. Also it is easy to expand.
