Abstract：This paper introduces reactive power balance and configuration of powe grid. Shunt capacitor, current-limiting reactor and shunt reactor with comments are introduced of one 500kV substation. Then, the framework and control mode of auto voltage control (AVC) is taken into account. At last, According to the operation of the reactive power device, suggestion for operation is proposed, which enrich professional experience for substation operation.
