Calculation of optimal reactive power compensation capacity of urban 110kV cable lines

Abstract:Based on power flow calculation, this paper firstly derives the mathematical formula of line losses of urban 110kV cable lines, and the mathematical model of optimal reactive power compensation capacity of urban 110kV cable lines with the goal of minimum line losses is obtained.Then verifies the correctness of that model by PSASP simulation and the optimal reactive power compensation capacities of YJLW03-1×800 type 110kV cable line at different lengths and different load rates are given, which provide reference for reducing grid losses to urban power supply companies.
