Abstract:With the rapid development of China power grid, more and more UHV DC transmission lines will pass through high altitude areas. The lack of altitude correction method of DC electromagnetic environment has brought great difficulties to the design in high altitude DC project. In order to study the influence of altitude on the electromagnetic environment of DC transmission line, a DC reduced-scale test line which can be used in different altitude tests was designed in this paper. Through calculation and analysis, the conductor type of reduced-scale test line meeting the test requirements was determined, the value range of parameters such as length of test line, distance between poles and height of conductor to ground was given, and the voltage range during test was also defined. Four reduced-scaled test lines were constructed at an altitude of 50~4300m.Through the electromagnetic environment simulation tests at different altitudes, the electromagnetic environment distribution characteristics of DC transmission lines at different altitudes were preliminarily obtained, which laid a foundation for the further study on the altitude correction method of DC electromagnetic environment.
