FTGS-917 type track circuit is widely used in rail transit signal systems in various countries around the world, providing an important guarantee for safe operation. In this study, firstly a system reliability block diagram for the structure and functional characteristics of the FTGS-917 type track circuit was built. Secondly, the system failure modes were identified by using the FMECA table. Thirdly, FTA method was applied to the system for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Finally, the causes of the system failure were found, and the corresponding description was given from the four aspects of the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the track circuit system. This study will provide a reference for the future design and application of the FTGS-917 type track circuit.
