Numerical analysis of hydraulic bulging of generator retaining ring based on finite element method

Abstract:The static structure analysis function of the finite element software is used to carry out numerical simulation and result analysis for the hydraulic bulging process of the 25 000 kilowatt retaining ring. The stress, strain and the size change of the outer circle of the retaining ring in the bulging process are analyzed, and the difference of the outer diameter between the simulation and actual measurement is analyzed. The results show that the maximum error of the outer diameter during the bulging process of the generator retaining ring is 8.8% under the two conditions of simulation and actual measurement. Therefore, the hydraulic bulging process of the retaining ring can be accurately simulated by using the finite element method, which has high practicability.
