During the test of an ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project, the data of the voltage divider on the rectifier side is abnormal, especially when the direction of power transmission is reversed. According to the information of AC voltage, DC voltage, DC current, tap switch gear and trigger angle (arc extinguishing Angle) under different power levels with power forward and reverse transmission conditions during the system test, the possible causes of the problem are analyzed from the perspective of theoretical calculation, and the simulation test results are basically consistent with the theoretical calculation. Finally, the inverter side DC voltage divider is utilized to compensate calibration in this paper. The actual voltage value of the DC system is moderate with the complete design, thus the safe and stable operation of the UHVDC project is ensured.
