Abstract:In this paper, we’ll study the wind turbine’s low-voltage ride through capability with doubly-fed induction wind power generation system. Firstly, we gave a detailed analysis of the basic working principle of the doubly-fed induction wind power generation system, designed the rotor side converter and grid side converter’s improved vector control strategy and simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment. Then, we derive low voltage ride through schemes according to the simulation analysis based on the fault characteristics of wind power generation system. When the short-circuit fault occurs in power grid, we can achieve fault ride-through of doubly fed wind power generation system by the dynamic voltage regulator connected in series between the wind turbine generator and the grid. Finally, we raise low voltage ride through new control scheme based on the stator side of DVR. And through simulation experiment, the scheme can increase low voltage ride-through capability of wind power generation system.
