Abstract:When a APF with output LCL filter starts up, it is highly possible that current surge and voltage overshoot appear because of system nonliner. In this paper, a reliable and soft start-up method for DC-voltage pumping is proposed, by inserting a resistor in series with the output of LCL-filter on the grid side. The resistor serves to limit the electric current, and at the same time improve the control system characteristics. The system can pump up smoothly without any surge. The system model and control characteristic with the resistor is analyzed, and simulation and experiment were carried to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.
