Discussion on Relative Problems of Indoor 110kV Substation’s Typical Design

Abstract:So far, most of the literature is on the research about the reliability of relay protection system, and little on the research about the effect of the first equipment reliability on the relay protection system availability. This paper first introduces the evaluation indices of reliability, availability, failure rate and repair rate, then based on considering the self-checking function of the relay protection system, introducing the state overhaul. The Markov model of the first equipment and protection system is established, and then the state space method is used to calculate the steady-state availability of relay protection. Through MATLAB simulation to find the relationship curve between protection system availability and the first equipment reliability. Generalize a conclusion that the protection system availability is effected more by itself’s reliability than the first device's.
