Abstract:The modular multi-level converter can be easily applied in high voltage system because of the modular design, and can output nearly sinusoidal voltage in a low switching frequency. In this paper, based on developing the power module for 1000V/90kVA MMC, the main component parameters of sub-module and the design of control system are discussed. Then, an integrated power module with four sub-modules is developed. At last, according to the result of single phase MMC bridge inverting experiment with load, pulse power experiment and test work for experiment preparation, the developed power module can work as the design expectation reliably and stably.
