Abstract:Technology feasibility of using IEEE1588 as time synchronous scheme in smart substation is analyzed in this paper, and around the clock model, IED device clock model, communication model, mapping protocol stack, clock redundancy, and several other key issues are analyzed. the time synchronous scheme of the whole smart substation using IEEE1588 is proposed. Interoperability tests showed that using IEEE1588 as time synchronous scheme in smart substation can meet the right requirement of time precision
