Abstract Effective measures to solve the voltage shift of power system with the load of the transformer.Nowadays, the technology of non contact with load regulating transformer has become an important research topic in the field of power system intelligent control.In this paper, the reliability of the voltage regulator with no contact with the load voltage is studied. The 50kVA power distribution transformer is used as an example. The single chip microcomputer controlled thyristor switch is used to realize the load regulating of the transformer. The factors that influence the reliability of the system are analyzed, and the corresponding improvement scheme is put forward to improve the reliability of the transformer with the load voltage regulation.
