Neutral-Point Voltage Balancing Control for Three-Level Inverter based on a Time Compensation |

Abstract Because of neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level inverter inherent electrical structure, neutral-point Voltage Balancing issue has been an inherent problems in NPC inverter. This paper discusses deeply the root causes of imbalance the neutral-point of the inverter, offering a method based on the time compensation netutral point control method and differring from the PI control. The method is to classify the neutral-point, in order to achieve at different potentials for small vector switching time parameters to achieve different compensation, reaching precise control of the neutral-point control. Matlab/Simulink simulation results show the effectiveness of the neutral-point potential modulation based on the time compensation.
