Research on Location of Single Phase to Earth Fault in Small Current Grounding System based on Wide Area Phasor Measurement |

Abstract 10kV distribution network in China is more than a small current grounding mode of overhead lines, more than 80% of the fault for single phase grounding. Although in recent years, the distribution network automation system gradually rise, but the system does not have the basic function of fault location for single phase grounding. Based on the goal of improving the reliability of power supply, this paper designs a fault location method for single phase to ground fault of 10kV feeder in a small current grounding environment. This method can obtain the characteristic information of the single phase earth fault by arranging the wide area phasor measurement points on the overhead line, and based on the concept of the relevant identification vector to establish the fault interval boundary node search model. A series of experiments and tests show that the proposed method can effectively define the single-phase grounding fault interval, the fault line patrol efficiency dramatically, but also for the future for the single phase grounding of feeder automation and provide technical support.
