Abstract The direct current system is a key equipment for control system,relay protection device and automatics in the power plant system, and also keep the units running safety and stable. By comparing the testing principle of the direct current system, we find the method about the earth fault, and how to handle the earth fault problem. In this thesis, the concrete analysis and particular case is used to optimization measure analysis. The results showed that, by this method the earth fault can be found quickly. There are important significance in the hydropower plant.
