The calculation of the impact current in parallel operation of generators |

Abstract When generators are operated in parallel, the impact current is caused by the large voltage altitude difference, the frequency difference and the phase angle difference, which will damage the windings and shafts of the generators. The effect is analyzed which the altitude difference, the frequency difference and the phase difference are against parallel operation, and the formula of the impact current are derived by using Laplace transform when altitude difference and phase angle difference exists. The reasonable ranges of parameters difference are given by a practical calculating example of generator are operated in parallel which supply theoretical basis for the parallel control apparatus of generators operated in parallel. At the same time, the base of simulating multiple generators operated in parallel is found.
