Abstract  Due to the large number of power metering devices, the planned maintenance often has some problems, such as low efficiency and weak pertinence. It is appropriate to optimize the condition-based maintenance strategy based on a certain mathematical model. Firstly, according to the information, configuration and operation data of power metering devices, the evaluation index system is constructed, and the index weighting is formed based on the sequential relationship analysis method, so as to achieve the comprehensive evaluation model of the health degree of power metering devices. Secondly, combined with the above evaluation conclusions, the health change trend of power metering devices is further obtained by using the grey GM(1,1) model, and verified by the actual operation case of Chongqing Electric Power Company of the State Grid. By using the results of this paper, the hidden troubles of power metering devices can be identified efficiently, and good decision-making aids can be provided for on-site condition-based maintenance of such devices.
