Abstract  Aiming at the unbalance problem caused by the performance difference of single lithium batteries in large-scale lithium ion battery energy storage system, a new non-balancing adaptive lithium battery energy storage method is proposed. Firstly, based on the idea of non-balancing, the difference of electricity consumption load is identified and detected. Then, k-means algorithm is adopted to cluster all single lithium batteries meeting the requirements. Finally, the performance model of lithium battery pack is established. Simulation experiment results show that the output of battery pack composed of single lithium ion battery with small performance difference is stable in this algorithms. According to the constraints of load and single lithium ion battery, the lithium battery pack is recombined to meet the load requirements.
