Abstract In an wireless underground magnetic induction network based on magnetic induction technology, it is often necessary to know the position of a sensor node, and there is a large error in estimating the position of the node directly by receiving the strength of the magnetic field. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes an wireless underground magnetic induction positioning optimization algorithm based on Gauss-Newton iterative method and conjugate gradient method. By applying algorithms to randomly generated node information, simulation results show that the method can reduce the The distance estimation error improves the positioning accuracy of the system and is less affected by environmental noise.
