Optimization strategy and application of AC filter control mode for high voltage direct current transmission |

Abstract At present, the reactive power control mode in HVDC project lacks the single mode switching function of AC filter bank, which leads to potential safety hazards in the process of filter overhaul. This paper presents an optimization strategy of reactive power control mode in HVDC transmission project, and verifies the feasibility of the optimization strategy through RTDS. This strategy has been applied for the first time in Gaolin Back-to-Back HVDC project, eliminating the influence of control mode switching on reactive power control of converter station during overhaul of AC filter bank, and improving the stable operation efficiency of DC system.
