Application of measurement uncertainty in field inspection of electric energy meter |

Abstract In order to accurately evaluate the electric energy meter measurement error in real load test, according to the electric energy meter working principle and the measurement uncertainty evaluation, this paper analyzes the influence of uncertainty of direct measurement and clamp measurement on the error of electric energy meter field inspection. Through the analysis of the electric energy meter field test cases based on the direct measurement method and the clamp meter method, the following conclusions are drawn. The error of electric energy meter for class 0.5(S) and above field inspection does not need to consider the influence of measurement uncertainty because the expanded uncertainty is less than 1/3 of the maximum allowable error in direct measurement. When the error measured with clamp, the error of the meter should be considered because the expanded uncertainty is greater than 1/3 of the maximum allowable error.
