Abstract  The urban express line, between the national railway and the subway, has the characteristics of fastness and large station spacing, as well as the characteristics of large subway passenger flow and bus operation. As the key equipment for rail transit trains, reasonable catenary selection is one of the important premises to ensure the safe and reliable operation of rail transit. This article assumes a maximum operating speed of 160km/h, combined with the operating characteristics of the urban express line, compares the advantages and disadvantages of the two solutions of overhead flexible and overhead rigid catenary, and finally gives suggestions for contact network selection: Overhead rigid catenary.
