Analysis of step-over tripping accidents on 10kV power line in simple transformer substation |

Abstract In this paper, several step-over tripping accidents which happened on 10kV power line in Tabei transformer substation are analyzed. The author reviews the recorder of the fault recorder, calculates the short circuit current on the basis of system impedance, analyzes the reliability and selectivity of protection fixed value; testes column breaker、current transformer and inrush current controller respectively. In the comprehensive test, when the short-circuit between phases happens, the inrush current controller loses efficacy. It is the main reason of the step-over tripping. The inrush controller cannot realize the selectivity of protection and cannot be used in transformer substation.
