Analysis of electric field at the isolation fracture of 12kV air-insulated ring main unit |

Abstract In view of the poor insulation of environmentally friendly gases, it is crucial to design a reasonable electrical structure in a relatively compact space. This paper takes a 12kV air-insulated ring main unit as the research object, and uses simulation software to analyze the electric field distribution near the isolation fracture of the main loop to judge the possibility of discharge. The electric field uniformity and the withstand voltage between the isolation fractures are calculated, and the structure of the isolation fractures is optimized. By comparing the maximum field strength, field uniformity and withstand voltage between fractures before and after optimization, it is proved that the optimized structure reduces the possibility of breakdown discharge. Finally, the reasonableness of the scheme is verified by partial discharge test.
