Abstract For the wind power generation system based on PI control is difficult to accurately implement a wide range of maximum wind power tracking control.In this paper, Based on the zero dynamic design principle of center manifold theory and sliding mode variable structure control strategy. The new nonlinear controller is designed. First of all, through the zero dynamics design principle of center manifold theory, linearization of nonlinear wind power system model, and then use the sliding mode variable structure control theory to design controllers for linear systems. The simulation results show that, Under the step wind and combination wind, wind power generator rotor can quickly track the given reference speed in the large change range of wind speed, to achieve a precise control of the maximum wind energy tracking, and the dynamic performance and robustness is perfromed by using the Matlab/Simulink environment.
