Abstract This paper introduces the general information of Zhoushan multi-terminal Flexible HVDC system firstly. In addition, the AC and DC coupling grid structure is introduced. Then the main electrical circuit diagram and the device status definition of the converter station are given. The typical start/stop process of the converter station and multi-terminal system are analyzed in detail. Additionally, in light of the practical projects, corresponding countermeasures are recommended.
