Abstract The normal operation of high-voltage DC transmission project is related to of the State of Electrode line(EL), EL is not only used in the conduction current, also in the metal loop -Ground loop transformation plays an important role.this paper intrduced two technolygy generally used in impedance monitoring of HVDC transmission project:impendence method and time domain difference method(DTDR). Take xiluodu-zhejiang project and Nuozhadu project as an example, this paper respectively expounds the principle of two kinds of technology, in the practical engineering application, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
