Analysis of Differential Protection Malfunction Caused by Isolation for GIS Voltage Withstand Test |

Abstract Due to the characteristics of One-and-a-half breaker configuration GIS, differential protection is possible to malfunction during GIS overhaul. Analyzing of the 500kV transformer differential protection accident, explore the reasons of the malfunction. Several aspects such as CT ratio selection, isolation of current loop and secondary circuit grounding point selection are summarized to avoid differential protection malfunction during voltage withstand test.
