Abstract Carrier protection channel is required to carry out the channel test every day. The test relies on manual detection in the past, and manual detection cannot be carried out in unattended substations. Remote control may be an alnative, but it is very difficult to implement. In addtion, its reliability and safety is poor. Based on the construction of the carrier protection channel automatic detection system in a regional power network, this paper puts forward a carrier protection channel automatic detection method, which is based on the carrier protection channel automatic detection device and the carrier protection channel abnormality intelligent identification function. It is proved that the carrier protection channel automatic detection system can be widely used in power monitoring and control.
