Abstract Based on smart meter network scheme, a wireless meter reading system is proposed. Transmission mechanism and routing algorithm have been researched in the Zigbee wireless meter reading system. AODVin algorithm is proposed to define new routing ruling way. The link optimization, reduces the routing cost, and can avoid the loss of a large number of data packets and the rapid increase of transmission delay were all taken into consideration. By experimental verification, the function of the system, stability, packet loss rate and the system response speed can achieve the expectations.
