Abstract The Reactor Protection Neutronic (RPN) is a nuclear instrumentation system in nuclear power station to ensure the permanent monitoring of neutron activity, which requires high measurement accuracy. As the key part of the RPN signal transmission circuit, the RPN electrical penetration assembly’s quality reliability is also of the same concern. This paper introduces two typical fault cases of RPN electrical penetration assemblies, the intermediate range cable plug’s ceramic insulation layer is broken and the source range feedthrough line’s characteristic impedance out of tolerance, analyzes and expounds the fault causes and treatment process, and puts forward corresponding improvement measures.
