New Test Method of Transformer Leakage Reactance

Abstract  A new test method of transformer leakage reactance is proposed in this paper. A simulation model based on Matlab/Simulink is built and the new test of transformer leakage reactance are simulated. The results show: The sum of transformer primary winding leakage reactance and secondary winding leakage reactance under the condition of transformer core depth saturated is greater than the sum of transformer primary winding leakage reactance and secondary winding leakage reactance under the condition of transformer core is not saturated. Saturated transformer core never saturated to depth, the percentage increase in transformer leakage reactance is very small. Transformer primary winding leakage reactance and secondary winding leakage reactance can be respectively calculated by the new test method.
