Reliability Analysis of Wind Farm Considering Terrain Effect and Wake Effect |

Abstract Nowadays, large wind farms are usually installed on the wind energy resource rich region, such as mountains or hills area. When wind passes over these areas, the complex terrain feature and the mutual influence between wind turbine generators(WTG)will observably change wind speed and directly affect the power output of the wind farm. In order to improve the utilization rate of wind and increase the power output of a wind farm, this paper proposes a time sequential Monte Carlo simulation technique to optimal distribution of arranges of WTG and analysis the reliability of grid-connected system, with considering combined wind speed random models and terrain effect of installation site and wake effect between in WTGs. The results have important theoretical guiding significance for wind farm planning, sitting, overall layout and increase economic benefits.
