Abstract  High voltage equipment insulation damage will cause partial discharge of power equipment, resulting in equipment damage. In order to realize the effective monitoring of the insulation level of the power equipment, prevent the occurrence of the serious discharge accident and avoid the serious loss, the partial discharge characteristics of the equipment must be studied deeply. Partial discharge ultrasonic signal detection is an effective detection method in the detection process, caused by the effect of ultrasonic on the partial discharge detection of electromagnetic interference, but the propagation path effects on the testing results of large. The transmission characteristics of PD ultrasonic signal are introduced. The characteristics of partial discharge ultrasonic signal extraction methods were analyzed, and using wavelet analysis on partial discharge ultrasonic signals are used in pattern recognition of partial discharge ultrasonic signal detection research has a certain reference value.
