SSO Error Assessment and Its Modeling |

Abstract The previous modeling method for subsynchronous resonance (SSR) cannot ensure that the established model meet the precision of engineering requirements. This paper investigates the effects on subsynchronous oscillation of modeling scale and load model by using the modified IEEE39 Bus system, which find that different load models and modeling size can lead to changes of subsynchronous oscillation mode. Taking into account the two factors are the essential reasons for the error of the traditional modeling of subsynchronous oscillation, a new method is presented to modeling the SSO model by enlarging step by step the scales of the extracted model. Finally, by using the example model, the errors of previous modeling method are assessed, and the proposed new modeling method for SSO is validated.
