Abstract Overhead transmission line tripping accident was an upward trend obviously due to external damage in recent years.The countermeasures were proposed in this article on the basis of reviewing transmission lines external damage. It was more comprehensively and accurate than intrinsic countermeasures of preventing external destruction,then ensure the stability and the safety of power network.
