Abstract SF6 gas is commonly used in the GIS, inside the device can diagnose whether there is fault by their type and content of the decomposition product. This paper summarizes the SF6 discharge decomposition gas constituents in the gas chromatography detector tube gas component method, and analyzes the development trend of SF6 discharge decomposition gas component techniques.
