Development of distributed single-phase-to-ground fault recorder in distribution networks |

Abstract This paper introduces a system configuration of fault recorder of distribution networks along with the design and implementation of the system. Fault recorder designed for the voltage type and current type can separately realize fault recording of three-phase voltage and zero-sequence voltage of the bus and three-phase current and zero sequence current of the feeder. In addition, it gives the key technologies in the realization of recording function, such as embedded modular design, start up of fault recording, fault data acquisition and storage, GPRS communication etc. At last, the device are installed discretely in the 10kV bus bar cabinet and the feeder cabinets, where the voltage and current signal are collected and stored locally. Each feeder's current type fault recorder is interacted through RS485 communication, and then the voltage type fault recorder is communicated with the main station. The on-site connection is simple and works well with high reliability.
