Abstract This paper investigates the characteristics of vibration and noise based on the equivalent model to shunt reactor. A number of measured results regarding vibration and noise behaviors under the different pre-pressures and different voltages are presented. It is helpful to evaluate the effect of the measures to be taken on reducing vibration and noise, and beneficial to the optimization design and modeling and simulation of shunt reactors.
