Abstract Aiming at the problem of unbalanced fluctuation of midpoint voltage inherent in T-type three-level inverter, the reason for the unbalance of the midpoint voltage of T-type three-level inverter is obtained through modeling analysis, and the inverter is added. The fourth bridge arm is used to control the midpoint potential balance, and a neuron PI adaptive control strategy is proposed for the balanced circuit. The Matlab/Simulink comparative simulation research and analysis were carried out on the conventional traditional PI regulator method and the neuron-based PI adaptive mediation method. The simulation results show that the PI-based adaptive control strategy is better than the conventional PI regulator for the midpoint potential balance.
