Abstract Cable is a carrier of energy transfer for railway traction power supply system, its reliability affects the safe operation of power supply system. On the basis of summarizing the current cable fault monitoring technology, based on the design ideas integration and internet of things, system Scheme for core temperature monitoring system of 27.5kV cable joint which used in electric railway is proposed. The system scheme is elaborated in detail. The system has the functions of convenient expansion and has good interoperability. It can effectively prevent and reduce sudden cable accidents, which provides the theoretical basis and technical guarantee for the safe and reliable operation of the cable.
